Roy Castle Foundation join Urban Revolution
Liverpool-based Urban Revolution Ltd has entered into partnership with leading charity, The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. The company, which manufactures the innovative UR Bin, which has been specifically and and chewing gum litter, will donate £1 to the charity for every bin sold.
Founder and Chief Executive of Urban Revolution Chris Bradshaw said: "Cigarettes and smoking have a very real impact on our society and we feel that this partnership can help tackle the issue on two fronts - ridding the streets of cigarette litter and helping to fight the harmful effects of tobacco smoke."
"The donation of this money will contribute towards our ongoing work in trying to better understand and combat the devastating effects of Lung Cancer."
As part of the agreement, each UR Bin, which consists of a 45cm tall stainless steel canister, will carry The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation logo.
It is hoped that these branded bins will help to promote awareness of the charity nationwide whilst tackling the huge problem presented by discarded cigarette litter across the country.
In the UK 120 tons of cigarette related litter is discarded on our streets every day, accounting for over 40 per cent of all street litter.
The huge cost of tackling the problem has resulted in some councils facing cleaning bills of up to £100,000 per year.
Rather than concentrating on cleaning, the UR Bin collects the waste before it hits the ground - making it a much more effective and cost efficient measure.
For further information regarding the UR Bin or to place and order call Chris Bradshaw on 07919 522 518 or visit the website.
